"A" and "An":
"A" is used before words that begin with consonant sounds (e.g., a cat, a dog).
"An" is used before words that begin with vowel sounds (e.g., an apple, an hour).
"The":
"The" is a definite article, used to specify a particular noun that both the speaker and the listener are familiar with or have discussed before (e.g., the car, the book).
It can also be used when the noun is unique or there's only one of something (e.g., the Sun, the President).
"The" is used when you want to talk about something specific or known to both parties in the conversation.
